We are Growing the Beloved Community at the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe.  This grand vision has been handed down to us as followers of Jesus Christ and calls us to challenge today’s systems of injustice, violence, and deprivation.  Jesus, Gandhi, and King spoke of such a community, and we will do our best to live it out in this place and time.  

You are welcome here.  To be who you are and all you hope to be.  To stand before great mysteries and share life’s joys and trials.  We don’t have all the answers but seek the presence of God in our worship and our songs, our conversations and silence, our many ministries and missions, and in our daily lives and spiritual lives, which are one and the same.  

You are welcome here.  Being the oldest Protestant church in New Mexico and Arizona, our history began in 1867 but our lineage goes back to Jesus who healed the sick, proclaimed good news to the poor, opened the eyes of the blind, set the oppressed free, and inspired an alternative community of peace, equality, and compassion for all people.  

You are welcome here, whether your faith is strong enough to move mountains, as small as a mustard seed, or filled to the brim with doubts and questions.  We think it’s better to talk and listen rather than insist on conformity.  And we can have some fun doing it.  

You are welcome here.  As Jesus opened wide his arms to those before him, we try to do the same, for you, others who venture in, and people we meet along the way.  Following Christ is a great adventure and we hope you will join us.  We need someone like you!
