Fundraiser for Faith Coalition
Sep 11, 6-9:30pm, Tumbleroot Brewery
Support our immigrant siblings and have a great time at Tumbleroot Brewery listening to the Latin band Nosotros. This fundraiser is sponsored by the Santa Fe Faith Coalition, of which our church is a member, and Indivisibles of Santa Fe. Tickets start at $10 but please give generously. Proceeds provide emergency support for immigrant families.

David Solem performs sonatas by Muzio Clementi and Francis Poulenc Doors to the sanctuary open at 5:15pm and the concert begins at 5:30pm. The concert is free with donations accepted.

Save the dates for our upcoming adult ed series Sunday mornings: September 20–27 & October 11-18. Revs. Ashley Birk and San Williams lead this series based on the book Being Presbyterian in a Dysvangelical America. The book provides an accessible overview of what distinguishes core Presbyterian beliefs and practices from that of the loud voices of Christian Nationalism.
Queer Theology Study & Meditation
Zoom, Tues, Sep 15–Oct 20, 5:30-7:30pm
Join a diverse group this fall in an FPC six-week series that explores queer theology, which is a way of understanding God and our relationship with God through the lens of God’s radically inclusive love. Deacon Tony Arnold leads the exploration of concepts, and Spiritual Director Jeannie Bowman leads guided meditations.
Fear, Idolatry, and Faithful Resistance

VIDEO. As Pastor Ashley continues preaching on the stories of the prophet Elijah, we’ll hear the story of Elijah’s “Contest on Mount Carmel” as Elijah follows God’s call to confront the idolatrous King Ahab. As we do, we’ll consider where or how we can find the courage to engage in faithful resistance in the face of fear and widespread idolatry.

As the Frijoles Fire continues, Villa Therese is collecting essential supplies to support first responders and neighbors who may experience evacuation, displacement, and other hardships. You may drop off items at the church and our mission folks will take it to Villa Therese. You may also donate online through the SF Community Fdn.

Pastor Andrew and Tribal and conservation leaders engage in an interesting discussion of the dangers of recent attacks on national monuments (including Chaco Canyon and the Caja del Rio), defenses against these attacks (including working closely with Tribal leaders), and the movements they see that give them hope. Luncheon Hiatus
First Sundays
Our hard-working Fun Food and Fellowship folks are taking a much needed rest this summer—taking trips and kicking back. So our First Sunday luncheons will be going on a hiatus for a few months. In October, they will return with plenty of creative and yummy entrees and desserts. We wish them a lovely, restful summer.
Home Supplies Needed
June & July, Donation Box at Church
The Santa Fe Faith Coalition is collecting cleaning supplies needed by Consuelo’s Place Homeless Shelter. If you can, please bring laundry detergent, toilet paper, and trash bags (13 & 33 gallon) to church and place in the donation box in the closet off the lobby.
Supplies for Women’s Shelter
June & July, Donation Box at Church
The Santa Fe Faith Coalition is collecting donations for the Casa Familia Emergency Shelter for Women and Families. Especially needed are new, packaged women’s underwear, all sizes; new bottles of shampoo & conditioner; and cleaning supplies, i.e. all-purpose cleaner, detergent. A donation box is available in the coat closet off the lobby.
Food Drive

Bienvenidos distributes food boxes of nonperishable food items augmented by produce purchased from local farmers. The demand for these boxes is still high. Collection boxes are in our coat closet off the lobby, and any nonperishable item (canned goods, pasta, oatmeal, cereals) that you would like to contribute can be deposited there.
Baby Hygiene Supplies Needed

The Las Cumbres Infant and Early Childhood Services is in need of diapers ( sizes 4, 5, & 6) and baby wipes for their immigrant and refugee services. As a member of the Santa Fe Faith Coalition, our church is participating in this diaper baby hygiene drive.
