Opening Day
Worship, 6:30 (Caja), 9:30 (Fed Park), 11 (Sanctuary)
Trauma turns to terrified turns to remembering turns to amazement. This is the sequence of Easter and holds the promise of new openings in our lives. Come discover these openings in three different places, 6:30 at the Caja del Rio, 9:30 at Federal Park, and 11:00 in our sanctuary. Our scripture this Easter Sunday is Luke 24:1-12.
Maundy Thursday
Hymn Sing, Worship, Apr 17
On Maundy Thursday, we gather in the sanctuary for a hymn sing at 5pm with Linda Raney and stay for a Tenebrae worship service with Pastor Harry at 5:30. The worship service choir anthem will be “Were You There?” (Arr. by Bob Chilcott). Join us for this time of deep reflection in a service of gradually diminishing light.
Concert for Good Friday
TGIF, Apr 18, 5:30pm
For Good Friday, our own Chancel Choir brings us the Duruflé Requiem, described by the composer as translating human feelings in facing a terrifying destiny. Doors to the sanctuary open at 5:15pm and the concert begins at 5:30pm. The concert is free with donations accepted.
Service for Creation Care

God calls all humanity to care for creation and all that is in it. Throughout the ages we have not paid enough attention to cherishing all animals and plants and rivers and trees, but with Climate Change upon us it is imperative we do. In this service, in prayer and song, we do. Join us in the sanctuary or on Zoom.
Easter Egg Hunt
Federal Park, Apr 20, 10:15am
Children of our congregation and the community are invited to join in an Easter Egg Hunt at Federal Park following our Easter service in the Park. The egg hunt will begin approximately 10:15. Everyone is welcome! Bring your own blanket. Refreshments will be served.
Pre-Triennium Retreat
Apr 27, 1-6:30pm, Albuquerque
All those who have registered to go to the annual youth Triennium (July 27-31 in Louisville), should try to attend a pre-Triennium retreat if at all possible. It is an important opportunity to bond as a group, talk about expectations and group norms, and do some fun creative brainstorming around group t-shirts and pins to share!
First Sunday Luncheon

During Lent the common theme is “I’m giving up – something.” We in F F&F subscribe to “Lift up what you love best and share the joy.” So we are having New Mexican Food. We will be serving enchilidas, including vegan, rice and beans, green salad. Bring you favorite accompaniment or side (chips & salsa? Guacamole?) or dessert.
Acting to End Hunger
Mission Project Response
During this Lenten season, Bread for the World has organized an offering of letters for people to support programs to end hunger—to invite all to come to the table. We are so thankful that our church has had an overwhelming response with 165 letters written to our senators and House members in support of programs that fund childhood hunger needs.
Living the Lord’s Prayer
Retreat, Ghost Ranch, Aug 15-17
San Williams invites members and friends of First Presbyterian Church to join him at Ghost Ranch this summer, August 15-17, for a retreat centered on the Lord’s Prayer. This prayer that Jesus taught his disciples invites us into the heart of Jesus’ life and teaching, and it empowers us to live joyfully—and hopefully—in these chaotic and fraught times.
