VOLUNTEER

First Presbyterian Church embraces volunteers who give of their time and talents to the ministries, leadership committees, and activities throughout the church and community.  We invite you to explore all the opportunities to serve the church and to connect with others within the church.

Volunteer Opportunities at First Presbyterian

You can explore all the activities of the church on the Circles—Committees and Activities page. Contact the Church Office (505-982-8544) for more information or to sign up for a volunteer assignment. We would love to have you join us!

Volunteer Opportunities in the Community

Our Mission and Social Justice Committee works with a number of social service groups in our community and they have compiled a list of volunteer opportunities with some of these organizations. Download the list: Community Volunteer Opportunities (updated May 3, 2025).

Current Volunteer Needs

In addition to ongoing opportunities mentioned above, here are volunteer opportunities currently being advertised.

Addressing Hunger, One Sandwich at a Time

Sandwich Brigade, Pope Hall, Each Sunday

Food insecurity is high in Santa Fe. To meet the current need, Bienvenidos Outreach is now open seven days a week, providing sandwiches to the unhoused, day workers, individuals and families facing food insecurity. Our church provides over 300 sandwiches each week to help in this effort. You can help.

Join the Welcoming Ministry

We have been considered a welcoming and affirming church for many years, but we can always improve by making those attributes more obvious. The Welcoming Ministry would like to have greeters available at the doors on Sunday to welcome visitors, answer any questions they might have, and just generally be a smiling and welcoming face.

Immigrant Accompaniment Program

Volunteer Opportunity

Immigrant families in our community are facing fear and uncertainty in their daily lives. Your presence through accompaniment says: “This person is seen. This person matters. The community is watching.” The Faith Coalition asks you to consider volunteering with Las Cumbres to walk alongside them. Volunteers receive orientation, training, supervision, and debriefing.
