VIDEO. With Dr. Patrick Reyes, we explored two well known stories in the bible in the hopes of gaining a fresh perspective for their importance today. We engaged the text and each other with a renewed imagination for our shared tradition. Most importantly, we had fun.
Dr. Reyes currently serves as the dean of Auburn Theological Seminary, a 205-year-old Presbyterian seminary in New York City. He is also the President of the Board of the Religion Education Association and the Co-Dean (volunteer of the Freedom Seminary, Children’s Defense Fund. He is the author of The Purpose Gap: Empowering Communities of Color to Find Meaning and Thrive (2021), winner of the NetVUE Council of Independent Colleges Big Book Read for 2022. The Children’s Defense Fund selected Reyes’ first book Nobody Cries When We Die as the inaugural book for the CDF Book Club in 2019. Nobody Cries was the Hispanic Theological Initiative’s book prise winner in 2019.
