Begin your weekend with our Friday night concert. This Friday we welcome Sam Jacobs who will play Bach and Mozart for us. Doors to the sanctuary open at 5:15pm and the concert begins at 5:30pm. The concert is free with donations accepted.

 Sam Jacobs

Since settling in Albuquerque in 2008, Samuel Jacobs has been an active pianist, teacher, and musical collaborator in the community. Has has a private studio and has additionally taught at the New Mexico School of Music. In 2014, he co-founded Southwest Chamber Players, a chamber music group based in Albuquerque.

Jacobs studied principally with Antonio Pompa-Baldi at the Cleveland Institute of Music (M.M. 2008), Peter Takács at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (B.M. 2006), and Jonathan Bass at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School (1999-2001). He also played in workshops and masterclasses in Europe and North America, working with other renowned teachers such as Jerome Lowenthal, Boris Slutsky, and Ursula Oppens.

In addition to musical activities, Jacobs is an enthusiastic reader of history, philosophy, politics, economics, and fiction, and is a passionate fan of exercise, nature, movies, chess, tango, and New England sports teams.
