Ensemble

Tom Leming, Leader and Trombone/Euphonium, has played baritone horn/euphonium off and on since 5th grade and trombone since high school. After college he “rested” for 18 years while pursuing a career with the US Department of Agriculture and raising a family before joining the Calvert Dance Band and Calvert Brass Consortium in Calvert County, Maryland. Tom moved to Santa Fe in 2008 where he now plays in Santa Fe Concert Band, High Desert Winds, Santa Fe Swing Shift, tRio Grande, and Sin Nombre Brass.

Ned Snow, Trumpet, started the trumpet in 7th grade in Pasadena, California, eventually playing with the Pasadena City College marching band in two Tournament of Roses Parades while still in high school. After playing sporadically over the next 16 years while pursuing business degrees, he finally committed to becoming a higher-caliber musician. He continues that pursuit in retirement after a long career in Silicon Valley high tech as a cost accountant, financial analyst, and production manager. In addition to playing with Sin Nombre Brass, Ned plays with the Santa Fe Concert Band, High Desert Winds, Swing Shift, tRio Grande, and occasionally with the Santa Fe Community Orchestra.

Mike Thompson, French Horn, is a native of Cleveland Ohio. He and his wife Susann have been Santa Fe residents since 2016. Mike is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, studying Music Performance and graduating in Mechanical & Controls Engineering. In the early 1970s he played in the USMA Band at West Point and the Army Field Band in Washington, DC. He now plays in the Santa Fe Concert Band, High Desert Winds and Sin Nombre Brass.

Mike Wagner, Trumpet and Flugelhorn, started playing at age 10 (with a 25 year hiatus during college and whatnot). He grew up in Los Alamos and began studying with Jan McDonald in 1964. After completing his medical training in 1983, he was in Sheridan, Wyoming, for a year and has been practicing pulmonary medicine in Espanola since July 1984. In addition to the Sin Nombre Brass, he plays in the Santa Fe Community Orchestra, Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra, Los Alamos Big Band, and Brave New Brass Quintet, and he is a substitute player with the Black Mesa Brass Quintet and the Santa Fe Great Big Jazz Band.

John Roehr, Tuba, has performed on all brass instruments, as well as voice and bass guitar, in Santa Fe for the past three decades. He has taught music performance in four states and in Canada. Currently John plays in the Santa Fe Concert Band and in High Desert Winds, in addition to Sin Nombre, and is looking to start a vocal trio.
