Remaining Rooted in the Wilderness

Worship, Feb 22, 10am

VIDEO. Moving through the season of Lent can be its own wilderness journey, but this Lenten season is not the only “wilderness time” we are facing. As we begin the Lenten season, as well as our time with Pastor Ashley as our Transitional Pastor, she explores with us what Jesus’ responses to his temptations in the wilderness may have to say to us about remaining rooted in the wilderness that is this transitional season of this congregation’s—as well as our wider country’s—life.

The scriptures for the day are Jeremiah 29:1-9 and Matthew 4:1-11.  We have one service at 10am and a reception afterward. Join us in the sanctuary or via livestream.

Pastor Ashley is an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA), and she brings with her a wealth of faithful leadership. Most recently she served the First Presbyterian Church of Bozeman (MT) as Interim Pastor and Head of Staff. Her ministry journey has also included serving as Associate Pastor (Interim, Designated, and Installed) at the First Presbyterian Church of Kennewick in Washington state, as well as Interim Youth Director at Sewickley Presbyterian Church in Pennsylvania. In each of these communities, she has shepherded God’s people with compassion, wisdom, and a heart attuned to the Spirit’s leading. She speaks often of being deeply blessed by the congregations she has served, learning and loving abundantly through the sacred work of guiding churches in transition.

We warmly welcome her to Santa Fe.
