Community Vigil for Juniper Blessing

Santa Fe Plaza, May 17, 6 PM

Join members of our Love Wins team on Sunday, May 17, at 6pm at the Santa Fe Plaza as the Santa Fe community gathers in solidarity, love, and community to honor the life of Juniper Blessing. Juniper, a 19-year-old transgender woman and graduate of New Mexico School for the Arts, was fatally stabbed last Sunday.

“Our family has been shattered by the loss of our child, Juniper Blessing, to an act of unspeakable violence near the University of Washington campus in Seattle,” the Blessing family said in a statement released through Human Rights Alliance of Santa Fe. “Juniper was simply the most amazing human being we have ever known—highly intelligent, extremely talented, and deeply sensitive to the needs of others. Juniper’s loss not only devastates us but diminishes the world.”

In the face of this heartbreaking tragedy, we invite our community to come together to hold space for grief, reflection, support, and remembrance. May we find comfort in one another and stand united against violence and hate.
