TGIF, June 5, 5:30pm

Friday our concert features Michael Raillard—an organist, composer, and church musician—playing Pierné, Bach, Brahms, a hymn, and an original composition. Doors to the sanctuary open at 5:15pm and the concert begins at 5:30pm. The concert is free with donations accepted.

Michael Raillard

Michael Raillard is an organist, pianist, and composer from Amarillo, Texas. He is a retired Software Developer.

He has held organ positions in Presbyterian, Episcopal, and Methodist churches for over 30 years, and is currently the organist at Westminster Presbyterian in Amarillo. He began playing the organ in his mid-30’s and is largely self-taught. He holds the Fellowship certificate from the American Guild of Organists.

He holds a degree in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Texas at Austin. As a composer, he has written music for solo piano, solo organ, chamber ensembles, choral ensembles, and solo voice.

In retirement, he has resumed composition more intensely and renewed musical studies. He is studying piano with Sarah Rushing and composition with Max Vinetz. He has participated in masterclasses at First Presbyterian, Santa Fe, with Kimberly Marshall and Nathan Laube.
