Start your weekend with a dynamic and engaging flute concert by the Flutes of Anarchy Quartet. The performers include Veronica Mascaro, Kaylee Knafelz, Heather Lindstrom, and Cheryl Stewart. Doors to the sanctuary open at 5:15pm and the concert begins at 5:30pm. The concert is free with donations accepted.

Performers
Veronica E. Mascaro (flutist)
Veronica Mascaro is a former Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas, where she was a doctoral student under the tutelage of Dr. James Scott and Professor Terri Sundberg. She is a past member of the North Texas Wind Symphony and current member of the Lone Star Wind Orchestra. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Veronica continues her east coast relationship with her memberships in the Brandywine Valley Symphony and the Reading Pops Orchestra. She is a frequent performer at Salon 33 in Princeton, New Jersey and the TGIF Concert Series in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She performs and publishes with the Mascaro-Newman Flute and Guitar Duo. Internationally, Veronica has served as faculty member for the Ameropa International Chamber Music and Solo Master Class Festival in Prague and the Chamber Art Chamber Festival in Madrid, Spain. Locally, Veronica is flute teacher at Memorial High School, Heritage High School, Fowler Middle School. She is the current adjunct flute instructor at Oklahoma Baptist University, conductor of the Flutissimo! Flute Choir, and guest conductor for the Reading Pops Orchestra.
Kaylee Knafelz (flutist)
Kaylee Knafelz grew up in Highland Village, TX, where her love of music first bloomed. A graduate of Briarhill MS and Marcus HS, she learned from master teachers Jennifer Vaerewyck and Amanda Drinkwater, played flute, piccolo, alto and bass flute, and served as drum major. She also sang in choir, under the direction of Donna McGinnis and Wes Davis. Her musical experiences in school inspired her to pursue music as her career. Kaylee earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Texas Tech University, and performed in several bands and choirs throughout her time there. A devoted admirer of the marching arts, she also marched with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps in 2021. In December 2022, Kaylee graduated TTU Summa Cum Laude. Now, she is the Director of Bands at Lamar Middle School in Irving ISD, where she teaches the Varsity Band, assists the Non-Varsity Band, and co-teaches all Beginning Band classes. She believes in music as an avenue to express oneself, to understand and deeply connect with others, and to build life skills through individual and team experiences. The community that music provides is a special bond unlike anything else! In her free time, Kaylee enjoys attending live performances, performing with her community band Fort Worth Winds and flute choir Flutissimo!, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
Dr. Heather Lindstrom (flutist)
Dr. Heather Lindstrom has been an enthusiastic flutist for many years, enjoys performing, and has a history as a former music educator. She plays bass in the Flutissimo Flute Choir, where she enjoys collaborating with fellow musicians to bring a diverse range of repertoire to audiences. She also serves as the Vice-President of Fundraising for the group, helping sustain the educational entertainment it provides.
Outside of music, Heather serves as a counselor educator, licensed professional counselor-supervisor, and private practitioner in Texas. She feels that there is nothing better than the community found through music and values the ways that music fosters connection and creativity in humans.
Heather is grateful for the opportunity to perform alongside her fellow musicians and thanks the audience for supporting live music and the performing arts.
Cheryl Stewart (flutist)
Cheryl Stewart is a native El Pasoan, earning a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baylor University. She was a founding member of the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving, where she served as the Woodwind Personnel Manager for many years. She is also an active and founding member of Flutissimo! Flute Choir, currently serving as its President. Cheryl was also a longtime member of Oak Lawn Band, serving as its flute/oboe section manager. She has performed frequently throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, including participation in the following organizations: Fort Worth Civic Orchestra, Johnson Park Woodwind Trio, New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving Woodwind Quintet and Northeast Orchestra. Cheryl is currently an active member of Brazos Chamber Orchestra, Flutes Unlimited flute choir, Mesquite Symphony Orchestra and New Texas Symphony Orchestra. Other affiliations include the E. Clyde Whitlock Music Club and Harmony Club sections of the Fort Worth Woman’s Club, the Music Study Club in Dallas, Texas Flute Society, and the National Flute Association. Cheryl recently retired from Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, where she worked in their Information Technology department as a Security Analyst.
