Gun Violence Prevention Summit

Ghost Ranch, Aug 22-25

Concerned about gun violence in America?  Want to meet others across the country who are involved in efforts to curb gun violence and bring healing to those who are its victims?  Then please consider coming to Ghost Ranch August 22-25, 2024, for the inaugural gathering of the James Atwood Institute for Congregational Courage.

The Rev. Jim Atwood, a Presbyterian missionary, pastor, and author, was a courageous advocate for changing laws and culture to prevent gun violence.  Pastor Harry recalls that, before the pandemic, Jim came to our church and the Presbytery of Santa Fe to help us deepen our understanding of this crisis—a crisis that has killed 1.5 million Americans since 1968, more than all of the wars in American history.

Jim would often say “Wouldn’t it be great if it were God’s people who stepped up to stop the killing?” Pastor Harry urges us to help one another do so.
