Jesus’ Transfiguration: A Super Hero’s Reveal

Children & Youth, Feb 15, begins during the worship Service

This Sunday, our children will explore the story of the Transfiguration, when Jesus went up the mountain with Peter, James, and John and was revealed in dazzling glory. To help make this powerful moment a bit more relatable, we will draw parallels to the “reveal” scenes in our favorite superhero stories, when an ordinary person is suddenly shown for who they truly are.

The Transfiguration reminds us that Jesus is more than a teacher or helper, He is God’s beloved Son. Most importantly, we listen to God’s words from the cloud: “This is my Son… listen to Him.” Our children are encouraged to follow Jesus not only in worship on the “mountaintop,” but also in everyday life, carrying His light into the world.

Children and youth begin their program in the worship services, and after receiving a blessing, they leave for their activities.
