Our concert this Friday features the world reknown pianist, Kiyoshi Tamagawa playing “Love Triangle” music by the Schumanns and Brahms. Doors to the sanctuary open at 5:15pm and the concert begins at 5:30pm. The concert is free with donations accepted.

Kiyoshi Tamagawa
Kiyoshi Tamagawa, Professor Emeritus of Music at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, has performed as a soloist and collaborative pianist throughout North America, Europe and Asia. His collaboration with the late violinist Eugene Fodor resulted in over thirty recitals and a CD, Witches’ Brew. He has also recorded two albums with cellist Hai Zheng, Rhapsodie and Remembrance. He has appeared with the Austin and Temple Symphony Orchestras and with orchestras in New England and Colorado. He has presented sessions at national conferences of the American String Teachers’ Association, College Music Society, and the Music Teachers’ National Association, as well as state and regional conferences, including the Texas Music Educators’ Association, Oregon and Texas Music Teachers’ Associations, and the College Music Society South Central Chapter. Dr. Tamagawa is a past recipient of the Collegiate Teaching Award of the Texas Music Teachers’ Association and the 2016 Third Prize Winner of the American Prize Lorin Hollander Piano Concerto Award competition. His book Echoes From the East: The Javanese Gamelan and its Influence on the Music of Claude Debussy was published in 2019. His pre-college piano students have attained the highest ratings and won top awards at local and state competitions.
