Rebecca Heindel grew up in southeastern New Mexico before moving to Santa Fe in 1981. Her undergraduate degrees are in music and French. Retired from a career as a classroom teacher of foreign language, music appreciation and humanities, she is now the hospitality and human resource branch of the church office.

Rebecca is married to George Heindel and has two adult children who grew up in First Presbyterian Church Santa Fe, attending Sunday School, and singing in the Chorister’s Children’s Choir, which mom led.

For seventeen years Rebecca was the flutist and business manager for Opus Four, a classical quartet of flute and strings, which played professionally in the Santa Fe and Albuquerque areas. She also played with the Orchestra of Santa Fe, and later played for years with the Santa Fe Community Orchestra, also writing their grants and serving on the Board. Rebecca now serves on the Board for the Santa Fe Women’s Ensemble. Rebecca still enjoys playing flute and piano, as well as teaching both at Studio One-to-One, her home business since 2005.

Dr. Linda Raney plays the C. B. Fisk organ (Opus 133) at First Presbyterian and directs the Chancel Choir, the Spirit’s Edge Singers, and the Chancel Bell Choir. She came from Indiana to Santa Fe and began her work as Director of Music and Organist at First Presbyterian in 1986. Linda founded the TGIF Concert series in October 2008, and First Presbyterian has been hosting a Friday evening concert every week since then.

Indiana University is where she received her excellent musical education, including doctorate, master’s and bachelor’s degrees. Since graduation she has also studied with James David Christie, Mark Edwards, Guy Boyer, Larry Palmer, Jane Clark, David Higgs, Olivier Latry, Daniel Roth, Helmuth Rilling, Rene Clausen, Rodney Eichenberger, Alan Wickes, Andre Thomas, Anton Armstrong, Noble Weston, Bob Chilcott, and countless other inspiring teachers in master classes.

Linda was a recipient in 2010 of the Mayor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, presented by then-Mayor David Coss and the City of Santa Fe Arts Commission.
