Stories That Inspire Us

PBM Breakfast, Feb 14, 8:30am

Prepared by Men’s Breakfast is delighted to welcome Anne Katherine as the guest speaker this Saturday. Her presentation, “Stories That Inspire Us,” invites us into the rich world of folktales and shared imagination. Join us in Pope Hall for a delightfully dramatic time of storytelling.

Folktales spring from dreams and creativity, then are shaped and carried forward by their tellers. They intrigue us, teach us, and inspire us through suspenseful plots, courageous and curious characters, and striking images.

Anna will dramatically tell two stories, using masks:
* A Native American story: “Raven Steals the Light”
* An African story: “The Necklace”, also called “The River”

Afterward, we’ll reflect together on what these stories tell us about how we see ourselves, others, and the world.

Anna Katherine, M.A., L.P.C.C., is a storyteller, counselor, teacher, and writer, and has led creative folktale workshops for many years. She started a school for junior-high students in California, and worked both in the Mental Health Unit, and the Rehabilitation Unit at Christus St. Vincent Hospital.

Join us Saturday, Feburary 8, 2026, at 8:30am in Pope Hall C.

Please come and share in unifying fellowship, enjoy breakfast together, and take part in a thoughtful conversation. There will be time for questions and discussion about what lies ahead and what we can expect.

A suggested donation of $2 or more is appreciated to help cover the cost of food and beverages.

Breakfast will be prepared by our Gayle Lomax and George Parr.
