Dec 3 at the 10am Service

On the first Sunday in Advent, our ukulele group will lead the congregation in hymns and play during the Offertory. One of the leaders, Daniel Ward will play meditative music to communion and play the Postlude. For those of you who have only seen the ukulele as a toy, prepare to be amazed.

This ukulele group has been meeting at the church for the last 6 mos under the leadership of Heidi Swedberg and Daniel Ward. If you came to the Maui fundraiser, then you have seen and heard Heidi and Daniel. Now you can hear the full group. Some are very new beginners, some are more accomplished, some are church members, most are not, but we all just enjoy playing the ukulele together with some instruction from Heidi and Daniel but with lots of fun.

The ukulele group is grateful to be a part of worship on December 3, and we welcome new members to our group on Tuesday evenings at  5:30-7:00.

Daniel Ward and Heidi Swedberg have been teaching and playing ukulele together since 2009, and have helped start many ukulele programs in libraries across Los Angeles, an orphanage in Haiti and schools from Mexico to Massachusetts. They are contributing editors at Ukulele Magazine, and enjoy performing at music festivals around the world.
