FPC will be sending a team to visit our sister Presbyterian church in Sagua La Grande, Cuba, departing on Thursday, February 29. They have sent a list of items they need. So check out the list if you can help out. More information and a donation box for monetary contributions are in our lobby.
Items Needed at Sagua La Grande Presbyterian Church, Cuba
Drugstore Items:
Most pharmaceutical products sold in the major US drugstores are always
welcome. Medical professionals are well trained, but even common medical
products are difficult to find.
- Analgesics: Ibuprofen, (Claritin, Alavert); acetominophen (Tylenol);
celecoxib (Celebrex); aspirin (acetylsalisiyic acid – Bayer Aspirin); low-dose adult
strength aspirin (81 mg) - Allergy/Antihistamine Meds: loratidine (Claritin, Alavert); Ceterizine
(Zyrtec); fexofenadine (Allegra) - Cold meds: pseudophedrine (Sudafed); fluticosasone nasal sprays; daytime
and nighttime flu meds - Skin meds: diphenhydramine (Benadryl gel, lotions, stick); cortizone
creams; antibiotic cream; salicylic acid wart and corn products - Stomach/Digestive meds: omeprazole (Prilosec, Lozec); ranitidine; laxatives
- Bronchial Inhalers: Ventolin; Symbicort; Salbutamol
- Eye drops: Sustane, Opcon-A
- Nutritional and Vitamin supplements
- Colostomy supplies
- Household medical supplies: bandaids, gauze, Q-tips, blister products, skin
lotions, sting-relief products; toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss;
Household Supplies:
- Fabric, yarn and thread for the sewing and knitting group
- All consumable sewing and knitting supplies
- Rechargeable lamps for blackouts, especially those with solar panel chargers
- Insect repellents
For Kids:
- Coloring books, kids’ books in Spanish
- Coloring markers, dry-erase markers, paper supplies, glue sticks.
- Backpacks, compact collapsible umbrellas
- Bilingual reading materials
- Digital Supplies: Cables and adapters, thumb drives, batteries, chargers
- Lightweight Cooking Utensils and Food Prep Supplies
There will be boxes in the lobby for you to drop off your donations.
Monetary Donations
If you would like to make a monetary donation to our Cuba Fund, there will be a box in the lobby for you drop off a check. Or you can donate online. Just put “Cuba Fund” in the memo box.
Our annual campaign for Cuba Fund donations will continue after our travelers return, when we will be able to more accurately report on the current condition and upcoming needs of the Church.
