“Winterscapes”

SFWE Concert Dec 8, 10, 14, 15

We are proud to host the Santa Fe Women’s Ensemble’s concert and its beautiful variety of seasonal music on Sunday Dec 8 at 3 pm, Tuesday Dec 10 at 6:30 pm, Saturday Dec 14 at 3 pm and Sunday Dec 15 at 3 pm. Light up your holiday season.

“The pieces we are presenting are amazing in their diversity and craftsmanship,” describes Dr. Linda Raney. “They hit every note for feelings during this time of year. Don’t miss this kaleidoscope of winter.” She invites you to connect with a variety of vignettes of this magical season.

  • Mary Had a Baby is a rollicking and joyful arrangement by Philip Kern which combines the African American spiritual with the energy of the Gospel train and Beethoven’s Ode to Joy.
  • The serene Snowflakes, by Zachary Wadsworth, features a haunting saxophone melody and describes the experience of softly falling snow.
  • Arranged by Ed Henderson, the traditional carol I Saw Three Ships has an exciting twist.

We are pleased to have saxophonist Dave Anderson and percussionist Diana Sharpe join us as guest artists for these concerts.

Read more about the concert and purchase tickets at SFWE’s Winter Christmas Holiday Concert web page. General admission is $30 in advance (or $35 when purchased at the door). Students/teachers/military/veterans are $12 (in advance or at the door).
