Children & Youth, Feb 16, 8:30 & 11am
This Sunday, both our children and youth continue to take a look at God’s love. We read passages from Matthew and Luke where Jesus teaches his friends the “Beatitudes” and shows them that the Kingdom of God turns life upside down. After receiving a blessing in the services, children and youth leave for their activities.
The 8:30 service is held in Pope Hall, and the 11:00 service is held in the sanctuary. For more information, contact our Family Ministry Director, Jen Black.
Children’s Sunday School
We learn about the beatitudes and how God shows his love to all of his children. Through this lesson children learn that the Beatitudes teach us to be kind, humble, loving, and gentle.
Youth Bible Study
Rendon Room
Youth, don’t forget to bring your bible, as we will dig deep and compare lessons of love as seen in the beatitudes in two different books (Matthew and Luke). In the Gospel of Matthew Jesus commences his Sermon on the Mount with a set of nine blessings. Luke’s version is expressed more succinctly than that of Matthew and gives four blessings and a matching set of four woes. There may not be a Gospel passage more challenging than this! Will you begin to question our ultimate goals in life?
