Children & Youth, Mar 9, 8:30 & 11am
This Sunday, as we enter Lent, we will take a look at significant numbers in the bible. As we prepare for Easter, we observe a time of reflection. During Lent we can examine ourselves and consider what Christ did for us, how he suffered and sacrificed. After receiving a blessing in the services, children and youth leave for their activities.
If you have any questions, contact our Family Ministry Director Jen Black.
Children’s Sunday School
We will learn about the 40 days and 40 nights that Jesus was tempted by the Devil in the desert. We will discuss ways that we may face temptation and how to choose the better road. Our children will read the Temptation story in Matthew, color, and work on crosswords and other puzzles.
Youth Bible Study
Rendon Room
Youth, don’t forget to bring your bible as we will begin our Lenten Journal Journey through the book of Mark. Youth will be asked to think about what they can do to honor the Lenten season and how they may start new practices during this 40 days or reflection. How will you pray, reflect, serve others and give thanks? Each day (Monday through Saturday) our youth will have a different reading from the book of Mark to read and reflect on. Our Sunday Bible Study discussions will focus on the week’s reading.
Readings that we will discuss this Sunday are:
- March 5th: Mark 1:1-20
- March 6th: Mark 1:21-39
- March 7th: Mark 1:40-2:12
- March 8th: Mark 2:13-28
