Let’s Feed Some People

Food Donations/Delivery, Nov 2

Santa Fe food banks are struggling to meet the needs of those in our community. The federal shutdown, deportation of the breadwinners from immigrant families, and the pending absence of SNAP have left many hungry. Sunday join us as we make sandwiches to be delivered to Bienvenidos on Monday. We are also collecting nonperishable food.

The government shutdown is 31 days old with no end in sight. The New Mexico government is stepping up with assistance to folks dependent on SNAP and WIC and furloughed Federal Employees, but it’s not enough. There are over 450,000 New Mexicans who will go hungry if we don’t act. First Presbyterian Church Santa Fe is joining this effort and is asking that you help. There are several ways in which to help.

This Sunday we will be making sandwiches to deliver to Bienvenidos on Monday morning. There will be tables set up in Pope Hall—please stay for lunch and help. There will be food donation boxes in the lobby. Volunteers will consolidate and deliver to Bienvenidos.

  • Non-perishable canned foods
  • Pasta (regular and gluten free)
  • Canned protein such as tuna
  • Soups and soup ingredients (broth, soup mixes, dried beans etc.)
  • Nutrition Bars
  • Oatmeal
  • Cereals

If you prefer you can donate directly to the Bienvenidos Food Pantry.
