First Sunday Luncheon

Jan 4, 11:15am, Pope Hall

Please join our New Year’s Celebration on Sunday. Traditional New Mexico New Year’s foods blend Hispanic heritage and Southwestern tastes, often with pork for abundance, green chile for spice, and black-eyed peas for luck. We will be serving posole, tamales, and green chili stew. Please bring your favorite traditional New Year’s side dish, bread or dessert to share!

Looking for ideas for your contribution… Other traditional New Mexico New Year’s foods include sweet fried dough Buñuelos and the state cookie Biscochitos.

On the first Sunday of each month, we have one combined service at 10am and lunch afterwards. It is a great time to visit with people you might not see on the other Sundays.
