Children & Youth, Mar 30, 8:30 & 11am
Throughout his journey to Jerusalem, Jesus has been teaching about the Kingdom of God. As we read Luke 15:1-3,11-32, we encounter the parable of the Prodigal Son and learn that God’s love has no limits and they are always welcome to come back to him. After receiving a blessing in the worship services, the children and youth leave to continue their Journey Through Lent.
Children’s Sunday School
This Sunday we will read the Parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:1-3,11-32. As we read the scripture, we will see how God offers his love to all of us in abundance. The forgiveness of the father in the parable is an image of God’s love for us, generous beyond measure in his love for both of his sons. Can we truly believe that God acts this way towards us and accept his mercy without jealousy, knowing that God’s love for another does not diminish his love for us?
Youth Bible Study
Rendon Room
Youth, don’t forget to bring your bible as we will begin our Lenten Journal Journey through the book of Mark. The Youth will be asked to think about what they can do to honor the Lenten season, and how they may start new practices during this 40 days or reflection. How will you pray, reflect, serve others and give thanks? Each day (Monday through Saturday) our youth will have a different reading from the book of Mark to read and reflect on. Our Sunday Bible Study discussions will focus on the week’s reading.
Readings that we will discuss this Sunday:
- March 24: Mark 8:22-33
- March 25: Mark 8:34-9:13
