Commitment Sunday

On Nov 13, we gather in the sanctuary for one service at 10am to make our annual pledge commitments, Building the Beloved Community. We then assemble in Pope Hall for a stewardship luncheon and fellowship.

Why do we make annual pledges to FPC?

One member of our congregation answered this question with, “We give with gratitude for the blessings and power of FPC’s teaching and fellowship in our lives and in support of the church’s work for equality and justice and kindness in our community and the world.”

Another quoted scripture, “These words from Paul to the Romans are my favorite because they speak to the gifts we have been given out of God’s mercy and goodness.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.
If yours is prophesying, prophesy
If it is serving, serve.
If it is teaching, teach.
If it is encouraging, encourage.
If it is leadership, govern diligently.
If it is showing mercy, do it cheerfully.
If it is contributing to the needs of others, GIVE generously.”

(Romans 12:6-8)

To pledge, you can bring your pledge envelope to church on Nov 13 or you can mail it in or you can make your pledge online.

Prayerfully consider your pledge for 2023 so that together we can continue Building the Beloved Community that actively engages society, nurtures lives, cherishes creation, and heals the world.
