This past Sunday the Rev Dr Amantha Barbee delivered a powerful call to action, “It is past time that we rise up against evil principalities and be the disciples of Christ that we proclaim to be. It is a sin, nothing less, to sit idly by and watch the destruction we are currently witnessing.” Listen again to her words (and songs) and join our email list for our resistance efforts. We are trying to express our Christian values of justice and compassion and stop the dismantling of democracy—since the dismantling of democracy is leading to grave injustices and heartlessness, which is counter to Christ. This effort has began more in full after a series of adult education classes that viewed videos by Dr. Jemar Tisby. The series was entitled “Roadmap to Ruin: How the Church Can Resist the Dismantling of Democracy.” Read more about those classes on our post: Our Role in Resistance.
