Take Action
You can take action in several ways:
- Move your personal money out of commercial banks that fund Arctic exploration.
- Submit comments to the Bureau of Land Management or Department of Interior when new lease sales or streamlined environmental reviews are proposed.
- Let your Senators and Congressperson know that you want them to support legislation that permanently bans drilling in the Arctic.
- Support Indigenous-led grassroots organizations such as the Gwich’in Steering Committee.
- Go to Protect the Arctic website, view their video, and take action: https://www.protectthearctic.org/.
- Reduce demand by lowering your personal consumption of petroleum-based products.
- Spread awareness; share what you learn with friends and others.
