PBM Breakfast, Nov 15, 8:30am
Our guest speaker Ed Williams will be presenting his talk “Investigating NM”. He will be introduced by our own Rev. San Williams. Ed is a renown reporter for Searchlight NM covering child welfare, social justice, data centers and other issues. In 2022, he was selected for ProPublica’s Local Reporting Network to produce stories about abuses in the foster care system and the devastating impacts on children.
Before joining Searchlight, Ed was a reporter in both the United States and Latin America, working for print, digital and radio outlets, including seven years in public radio. His numerous journalism awards include a 2022 First Amendment award and 2019 local accountability reporting award from the News Leaders Association. He has a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
Breakfast will include Belgium Waffles and blueberry sauce but be early because they might run out and you might get back up waffles. George Parr will lead the breakfast effort though Jim Elliott will handle the waffles and sauce. Also sausage and or bacon will be available and juice and coffee as usual.
To receive monthly Evite reminders and RSVP links, please text Jim at 505-557-8110 with your email address (if you’re not already on the list). If you’d like to help out as a back-up or assistant chef, bottle washer, or buss person for Prepared by Men’s Breakfast—or if you have a program suggestion—please text Jim as well. You can also reach out to Wally Bettes through email or 214-893-7211 with ideas or offers to participate. For email addresses for these people, see our church directory or contact the church office.
We hope you will join us in Pope Hall for breakfast and to hear about this critically important topic. A suggested donation of $2 or more is appreciated to help cover the cost of food and beverages.
