Joseph Seth Zamora, a native of Tularosa, New Mexico, is a recent graduate from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor’s of Music in Piano Performance. Seth began playing the piano in 2011, studying with his aunt’s mother-in-law Jonnie Haley. Two years later, he enrolled in the El Paso Conservatory of Music and began piano lessons with Dr. Esequiel Meza. In 2014, he began studying with Dr. Laura Spitzer at NMSU. Seth will work on his masters in the fall semester of 2019 and continuing his education to get a doctorate.

He has won and placed high in several competitions including the Third Annual UTEP Piano Competition (First place, 2016), New Horizons Symphony Orchestra Inaugural Young Artist Competition (First place, 2015), El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition (First place, 2014), El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra Inaugural Piano Competition (Second place, 2013), and the Dennis Alexander 3rd Annual Piano Competition (Second place, 2013). Two of the prizes included performances with orchestras, including the New Horizons Symphony Orchestra and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra.

Seth believes that everyone should have the opportunity to experience classical music and the fine arts. He plans to give a tour through small towns in New Mexico beginning in fall 2018 and ending in fall 2019.
