Love One Another

Children & Youth, Feb 23, 8:30 & 10am

This Sunday, both our children and youth will continue to take a look at God’s love. In Luke 6:27-38, we are asked to love our enemies. God doesn’t call us to just do what is easy. We are called to do more. After receiving a blessing, children and youth leave worship for their activities.

Anyone can love people who love them, or act kindly to those who show kindness. But Jesus told people here to show care even for people who we know won’t do the same in return. In return, He promised blessing. We are to show mercy because that is how God treats us. He loves us and grants us grace even when we mistreat others. As He loves and forgives, so can we.

The 8:30 service is held in Pope Hall, and the 11:00 service is held in the sanctuary. For more information, contact Jen Black.

Children’s Sunday School

We will learn about God’s love and the “Golden Rule” guidance to live by. We will discuss what it means to forgive others, and how we can show God’s love even in challenging situations.

Youth Bible Study

Rendon Room

Youth, don’t forget to bring your bible as we will continue reading the book of Luke and discuss what it means to love your enemies. In our world, conflicts are common, and it’s easy to develop hard feelings toward those who oppose us. We will brainstorm ways to soften our hearts, letting go of anger and learning to forgive.
