Natl Public Lands Day

Rev. Andrew Black led a group including Secretary Deb Haaland, Senator Heinrich, and Tracy Stone-Manning of BLM on a visit to the Caja del Rio for National Public Lands Day. Pueblo and community leaders are attempting to protect the cultural areas and fragile ecosystems of the Caja.

National Public Lands Day, celebrated on September 24, was established nearly three decades ago to honor communities and the public lands they rely on. To learn more about this day and the Caja, read Pastor Andrew’s op-ed for the Taos News about National Public Lands Day: “Public Lands Day reminds us to be better stewards of the land.”
