The Artists
Flaviano Prosperini began studying the violin at the age of six in his hometown of Rome, Italy, and later continued his musical education at the Music Conservatories of Perugia and Terni. Since moving to Santa Fe in 2011, he has continued his music education in New Mexico under the guidance of private teachers, while also participating in various music workshops. He performs regularly with eSSO Santa Fe, the Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Fe Community Orchestra, and a range of chamber ensembles, occasionally appearing as concertmaster and soloist. Outside of music, he works as a software engineer at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He plays a 1951 violin by Giuseppe Saretta, a sculptor and pupil of the luthier Carlo Oddone, in Montebelluna, Treviso.
Charlotte Rowe started playing piano at age four, with formal lessons beginning at age five. As a military dependent, she grew up with frequent moves, hence her early piano study was intermittent. She began her undergraduate studies as a music major in voice/opera, and began studying piano with Dr. Mel Kinney, at Northern Arizona University. Her professional emphasis took a sharp turn to geology and geophysics, but later as a graduate student at the University of Alaska she continued serious piano study for several years with Dr. James Johnson, whose pianistic training lineage can be traced to Rachmaninoff, Liszt and Beethoven. In 2002 she joined Los Alamos National Laboratory as a research geophysicist and settled in Santa Fe, resuming her piano study first with Keith Snell and for the last several years she has worked with Santa Fe’s Sergio Rodriguez.
