Remember to Wear Red

Pentecost Sunday, May 24

We wear red on Pentecost Sunday to symbolize the “tongues of fire” associated with the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles, as described in Acts 2:1-4. It represents the fire of the Holy Spirit, the church’s birthday, and the passionate love of God, serving as a visual reminder of the spirit’s presence.

The liturgical hangings, which will be put up this next week, include “tongues of fire” on the banners and our flags, flying high over the pews have doves descending.

Please join us and wear red on Pentecost Sunday.
