This week, the Sandwich Brigade celebrated making its 10,000th sandwich for Bienvenidos Outreach! Launched in November 2025, each week volunteers make more than 300 sandwiches to be distributed as part of lunch bags for Santa Feans facing food insecurity.

On Saturday, July 18th, Bienevenidos Outreach welcomed volunteers to a 39th anniversary open house at their home base on Fifth Street. A First Presbyterian group attended and enjoyed lunch and fellowship with volunteers from across Santa Fe. Executive Director Susan Tarver said “we couldn’t do what we do with the lunch program without the sandwiches from First Presbyterian Church – we are very grateful!”

The FPC Sandwich Brigade volunteers assemble sandwiches each week between services at 9:30am, with the only exception being on the first Sunday of the month when sandwich making takes place at 11am. Read more about our Sandwich Brigade.
