Welcoming Rev. Liz Graham

New Parish Associate

We are pleased to announce that Rev. Elizabeth “Liz” Graham has joined us as our new part-time Parish Associate for pastoral care. Now partially retired, Liz has served as a hospice chaplain and in various capacities at a number of churches in New Mexico and other states. Years ago she interned at our church and is pleased to be with us again.

Liz spent the majority of her career as a hospice chaplain in California and New Mexico. Before and after chaplaincy (and sometimes during), she served parishes in Los Angeles, CA, Lafayette-Orinda, CA, and a number of Northern New Mexico churches in various capacities. Liz was also the Project Director and Pastor of the Synod’s ecumenical Native American Ministry Project serving
greater Los Angeles. Most recently, she was Chaplain/Director of Spiritual Care for a large retirement community in Seattle, WA. She is currently the stated supply pastor for Embudo and Emmanuel churches in Dixon and Penasco.

Liz attended San Francisco Theological Seminary, interned here at this church, and trained in Pastoral Counseling at the Samaritan Center in Portland, OR. Her mother, Betty Graham, made sure she developed a creative streak, and this Fall Liz will teach an art journaling workshop called Cut, Paste, Remember: Stories That Stay, for OASIS. She is pleased to again serve within this congregation, where so much of her early faith took shape.
